Monika Szmidt is a psychologist who graduated from the University of Gdansk. She specializes in psychology of children and adolescents. During her studies, she used to work as a counselor at camps as well as an animator of school trips. In 2005, she obtained national qualifications of an instructor of physical recreation with the specialization in horseriding. Two years later, she extended her qualifications with hippotherapy. Since May 2007, she has been working as a leading therapist with children suffering from autism, Asperger syndrome, mutism, speech delay, and other developmental disorders. She has participated in therapeutic and training camps supervised by a Norwegian specialist, Torleif Roseland. In the summer of 2013 she did her apprenticeship in a Norwegian center, ‘Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis’ in Stravanger. Since September 2011, she has been working as a lecturer at postgraduate studies of applied behavior analysis.
